Bond is back.... again with the 22nd instalment of the bond series.This was one of the most awaited movies of Q4 2008,specially for the bond fans., but the movie doesn't really lives up to the expectations.The movie isn't bad but it isn't that good either.The movie is high on action but low on story which continues from where Casino Royale had ended.Bond is back to take revenge from the people who killed his girlfriend.It's a plain plot and the whole movies revolves around it.
The character of James bond has been given a whole new look,he more human than ever and no more a hero.This movie tries to show the dark side of bond who is heart broken,cruel and brutal.Though Daniel Craig doesn't look as handsome as the previous bonds, he more than makes it up with his performance and has been able to deliver the goods once more.
The movie starts with a car chase in Italy followed by the opening song (Another way to Die)from Jack White and Alicia Keys.I didn't like the song much but i had to bear it for 4
minutes.The overall background score by David Arnold is good and keeps up with the mood of the film.
The main talking point of the film is the action.The whole movie rides on high octane action,which include car chase,bike stunts,boat chase,plane chase and finally some more explosive action on a somewhat high tech structure during the climax of the movie.There is action on land ,water,air,desert hhhh... i wonder how did they miss out the ice,that could have completed the five elements.Another observing note is that all the trademark super cool bond gadgets are gone and apart from the chases the action is more physical(hand to hand combat).Overall the action sequences are well shot and they will keep you at the edge of your seats.
Finally,after Casino Royale(which is one of my favourite bond movies) i expected a much better sequel than this.The plain story of the movie is a huge let down.But if you are a bond fan and an action freak this movie is a must watch for you.This movie again ends in somewhat a cliffhanfer and the story is yet to continue,so the bond will return again(may be in a much better way) and so will its review.
Guess what,after all this i am already waiting for the next James Bond movie.
